"We would not want to have a conversation with anyone unless we had gone through the proper channels," he told the clubs official website.
"We are anxious to trawl the current market place as widely as possible to ensure that when the board comes to consider the issue of a new manager we have the widest choice possible.
"There is no-one specifically in the frame. There are no favourite sons. We are simply looking at the whole market place."
