"In terms of the away team I thought we did a good job defensively, and the work ethic was good," Clark said after the game on Tuesday night.
"I asked them at half-time to improve the quality on the ball. Without it we did well, but with it we could have done better and we did improve and scored a good goal.
"I'm always looking to improve the squad if I can but I'm not going to bring people in who can't improve it."
