Three supporters were arrested after trouble broke out at the end of the first leg of the League One play-off game between Huddersfield and Millwall.Police with batons entered the visiting fans' area of Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium as bottles were thrown on the pitch between both sets of supporters.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said three Millwall fans were arrested for public order offences.
He said the trouble was quickly brought under control after the goalless match.
'Bit ugly'
The spokesman said: "There was an outbreak of minor disorder at today's Huddersfield Town versus Millwall game, where police had to draw batons to secure order at the ground."
A spectator, who did not want to be named, said: "It kicked off in the Millwall end behind the goal.
"They started lobbing bottles and things and they all rushed to the bottom corner, where the Huddersfield fans were.
"The Huddersfield fans were also throwing stuff back at them and it all got a bit ugly.
"The police stopped it fairly swiftly by forming a cordon and pushing the Millwall fans back up the stand."
Thirteen football supporters were banned from Saturday's game after they were arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of violent disorder.
The arrests, eight in London and five in Huddersfield, followed trouble at a fixture between the two clubs last month.
