Dutch Antillean right-back Tim Cathalina should return to training next week, while Ash Taylor and Alan Mahon are longer-term injury problems.
Tranmere midfielder John Welsh told BBC Radio Merseyside: "They [Huddersfield] have a great squad and a great team and they proved that last year.
"We just need to pick up points and get up the table.
"We understand that we have to get the points on the board as soon as possible and we've got to improve on the game [against Oldham] on Saturday."
