Hull call off friendly

Huddersfield's pre-season friendly at home to Hull has been cancelled at the request of the Championship club. The game was scheduled to take place at the Galpharm Stadium on July 28. Town chief executive Nigel Clibbens told the club's official website: "Having completed our pre-season schedule over two months ago, we are all very disappointed that the friendly against Hull will not take place. "A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes in preparation for this fixture - programmes have been written and hospitality places and tickets have been sold - and we're determined it shouldn't go to waste so we're quickly seeking another opponent to fill the void. "All football clubs know what is required in arranging a fixture of this nature and it is rare they are cancelled. "I'm sure Hull would not have done this unless it was absolutely necessary and unavoidable."
