Manager Lou Macari was delighted by the level of performace shown by his team.

In a week where the signature of Peter Ndlovu fell through his fingertips Macari also stressed the importance of drafting in another forward, "There's no doubt about it, I need another man. Delroy Facey isn't a natural striker and we won't be getting Clyde Wijnhard back this season."
"We had several players out there in the first half who were playing on the wrong side of the field. Ben Thornley I consider a left-footed player, but we had him on the right today. It seemed worth taking that chance to start with but at half-time I switched them tactically and it produced a much better performance."
Nottingham Forest boss David Platt felt his team should have gone on from the impressive start they made in the game, and dominated.
"We took our foot off the accelerator just when it mattered and in the end it became a game that I was sure we wouldn't lose, but I also knew we weren't likely to win."
However he was quick to jump to the defence of David Johnson who has recently completed a £3million switch to The City Ground, "David played very few games for Ipswich before Christmas and he's turned out only once for us in the last three weeks, so he's short of match practice."
