The club's chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "This award is great for people at the club. They are unsung heroes. We have an army of people working hard and it's very pleasing to see it being rewarded.

"We have a new owner at the club, who has brought investment. The club is in a new era and we are taking a fresh look at things.

"We want to establish Huddersfield Town as a respected team and we can't just rely on the players to do everything, the club needs to work hard."

Judges also acknowledged the club's 'Fantastic Family Stand', which operates a variety of matchday activities such as face painting and the chance for children to measure themselves against one of Town's goalkeepers, while the Terriers have also teamed up with 200 schools in their successful '7s scheme', which invites children to a game on their seventh birthday and hands out a free replica shirt.
