Terriers start convincingly

Huddersfield's pre-season campaign hit the ground running as they coasted to a 5-0 win over Emley. Robbie Simpson opened the scoring midway through the opening period and Gary Roberts doubled their lead on the stroke of the interval as the Terriers made light work of their Northern Counties East League Division One opponents. Lionel Ainsworth scored a third nine minutes after the break before Jordan Rhodes grabbed two in the space of three minutes to complete the rout. Boss Lee Clark named new signings Scott Arfield, Jamie McCombe and Lee Croft in his start XI, while Ian Bennett and Joey Gudjonsson featured in the second half. Town continue their preparations for the new season when they send a side to Wakefield on Saturday, before travelling to Bradford Park Avenue on Tuesday.
