Blackpool's six-month search for a home league victory continued despite a stirring second half come back secured a 1-1 draw against high-flying Huddersfield Town.

The visitors enjoyed by far the better of the first half and could have been at least three goals up instead of the one they took in to half-time.

Big striker Andy Booth celebrated his 250th game for the Terriers with a goal after 14 minutes with a straight forward header from a Tony Carss' corner.

Town should have doubled that lead minutes later but Lee Jones in the Blackpool goal did brilliantly to deny Booth and Pawel Abbott from point-blank range.

Blackpool created little in the first half but, after the break, they looked more like the side who have put together a room of only one defeat in eight games.

Young winger Jamie Burns, in for the suspended Paul Edwards came more and more into the game and five minutes after the break Colin Hendry's side found an equaliser.

Danny Coid's corner was met superbly by in-form John Murphy who headed home his sixth goal of the season and third in the last week.

Blackpool enjoyed the better of the second half chances and Murphy could well have given his side all three points when found in the six-yard box by a cross from Coid on 81 minutes, but he fired over the bar.

Both sides are now preparing for an early re-match in the LDV Vans Trophy in which Huddersfield return to Bloomfield Road in just three days.
