Paul Green's stunning leveller for Doncaster was almost over shadowed by a potentially dangerous incident involving golf balls being thrown onto the pitch during this derby.

Three youths were arrested after throwing two golf balls onto the surface from outside the stadium that narrowly missed players from both sides in the 2nd half.

It is thought the youths collected the balls from a nearby driving range and threw them onto the roof of the Galpharm Stadium's John Smith Stand - where they then rolled and then fell down onto the playing surface.

Nobody was hurt and the game was only briefly delayed, but it could have caused injury if anyone had been hit by the flying balls.

Green, meanwhile, dragged Rovers level for a second time in the contest after Jason Price had cancelled out Martin McIntosh's early opener for Huddersfield with a fine curling effort on 16 minutes.

David Graham put Town back in front at 2-1 with a deft touch to turn in Andy Booth's flick on from Dan Smith's free kick.

But the second half was dominated by the visitors and they deservedly levelled again when Green hammered a shot on 57 minutes that might have caught Town keeper Philip Senior unsighted by a strong sunlight.

Booth had a late winner against the run of play ruled out for pushing as he tried to reach Smith's corner.

Veteran Booth was a menace in the air all afternoon but it was a player at the other end of his career who really caught the eye. Doncaster's 19-year-old Ross McCormack, on loan from Rangers, was outstanding throughout and was unlucky not to score at least once.

Ross McCormack tested Senior from distance on 53 minutes and then shortly after Green's equaliser he nearly put Rovers in from with a 30 yarder that flashed past Senior's right hand post.
