Striker Pawel Abbott went to the top of the League One scoring chart after an impressive double put Huddersfield on their way to an easy 3-1 home win over Milton Keynes Dons.
Poland Under-21 international Abbott put Town ahead on 33 minutes by beating Dons keeper David Martin at his near post with a rising drive.
He then scored his second of the match from the spot in the third minute of first-half stoppage time after former Bradford City defender Gareth Edds handled in the box.
Abbott, a £125,000 signing from Preston during the summer, has now scored 11 league goals and seems set to keep fit-again Town legend Andy Booth out of the side for some time to come.
In between Abbott's goals Junior Mendes said a temporary farewell to Huddersfield's fans with a 25-yard curling drive following a great solo run.
In-form Mendes has scored six goals in as many games for Town and now jets off to join Montseratt's CONCACAF Gold Cup squad.
A rampant Town could have had a fourth goal but Chris Brandon's close range header from Mendes' cross following a fine flowing move was ruled offside.
At the other end Izale McLeod also had a goal scrubbed out for offside. It was a terrific finish from just inside the box following great work by Edds and Ben Chorley down the left, but McLeod was comfortably 10 yards in front of the nearest Town defender.
In truth MK Dons rarely threatened, and only got a consolation goal when Andy Holdsworth handled in the area five minutes from time. Chorley stepped up to send Phil Senior, making his fourth start of the season in goal for Town in place of Ian Gray, the wrong way.
The defeat was MK Don's eighth of the season and the third straight match where they have lost to Yorkshire opposition.
They went down 1-0 at home to Doncaster last Saturday and then threw away a two goal lead away at Hull on Tuesday before making it a hat-trick of defeats to White Rose teams today.
