Huddersfield survived a second-half battering to emerge with the three points that lifted them into second place in League One.

It also ended a mini-slump that had seen them drop five of the last six points.

The clash in Somerset was the proverbial tale of two halves. In the first 45 minutes the Terriers cashed in on defensive errors to go two goals up, and their midfield and strikers played some delightful stuff, moving intelligently off the ball and at times having Yeovil chasing shadows.

But in the second half it was Huddersfield's turn to defend as Yeovil pulled a goal back in the 47th minute and then pounded away for an equaliser.

Phil Jevons lost the ball in midfield to set up the attack that brought the visitors their first goal on 11 minutes. Danny Schofield featured prominently in the build up and his final ball was tapped in by Andy Booth.

Twice within a minute the Glovers hit the woodwork as they battled back, first through Pablo Bastianini and then Matt Harrold.

But further disaster struck for the home team on 39 minutes when three defenders failed to clear as the ball bobbled around in the penalty area and Mark Hudson was on hand to finish.

Yeovil brought on Kevin Gall for the second half and he was instrumental in their goal. A speedy burst down the left and a perfect cross saw Lee Johnson steam in at the far post to head home.

It was all Yeovil from then on, but they ran up against a dogged defence and failed to create many clear chances.

In this second period the Terriers had four players booked, and one of those, Hudson, sent off for a second yellow card in stoppage-time.
